Linux: The Free Operating System
So you've just purchased a used computer. Chances are it came to you
without an Operating System. You've seen Microsoft Windows(tm), but
getting a new and legal copy of Microsoft Windows(tm) can cost you $200
or more. Fortunately, there is an operating system which is available
for free to download, and also for much less money than Microsoft Windows(tm)
in a computer store: Linux.
Linux used to be more of a hobbyist or technical person operating system,
but with recent advances in ease of use, Linux has become an operating
system anyone can install and use.
